Friday Night Football Bracket Challenge
Update! (2007-11-12) Please note the updated tie breaker system
and date by which brackets must be filled out.
Welcome to the Friday Night Football Bracket Challenge for the 2007 FHSAA State
Playoff Series. The Championship Games for all 8 classifications will be played
at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando during the first two weekends of December both this
year and in 2008. For more information about the Championship Series, including
days and times of the games, as well as other planned festivities surrounding the
games, please visit http://www.roadtoorlando.org
In order to participate in the Bracket Challenge, simply select a classification
then select the team you think will win each game in each round. Proceed with each
round all the way to (and including) the championship game winner. Don’t forget
to include what you think will be the final score of the championship game, as it
will be used for potential tie-breakers.
Scoring:
- One (1) point will be awarded for each correct prediction in Round 1
- Two (2) points will be awarded for each correct prediction in Round 2
- Three (3) points will be awarded for each correct prediction in Round 3
- Four (4) points will be awarded for each correct prediction in Round 4 (Championship
games in classifications 1B-2A)
- Five (5) points will be awarded for each correct prediction in Round 5 (Championship
games in classifications 3A-6A)
Tie-breaker:
In the case of a tie, the following formula will be used as a tie breaker with the
lowest score being the best:
([Number of games incorrectly picked] x 1000)
+
([Distance of predicted winning
score from actual score of winning team] x 100)
+
([Distance of predicted losing score
from actual score of losing team] x 10)
+
([Distance of predicted final combined score
from actual final combined score] x 1)
If there is still a tie then the winner will be determined by a random drawing.
Brackets must be filled out by 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November
15th in order to participate.
Good luck, have fun and may your favorite team have success in the 2007 playoffs!
